Each year the OYHA Board reviews guildlines, policies and procedures. With this, the board also validates that OYHA complies with USA Hockey and MN Hockey rules.

From this year's review the following has changed:

• Neck guards are no longer mandatory but are highly recommended.
• SafeSport training or the SafeSport modules are no longer mandatory for parents to complete but are highly recommended. OYHA and USA Hockey do require that all parents complete the background check.
• Parents are not allowed on the ice. Nets will be moved by refs, coaches, or the rink staff. During tournaments, parents will not be allowed on the ice to take photos.  They must be taken from the benches or bleachers.
