What type of fundraiser is this?

Spare Time Entertainment hosts BINGO every Saturday from 3:00p.m. -5:30p.m. during the months of November through April. The OYHA families will help facilitate BINGO as a fundraiser. This partnership gives OYHA the profits from BINGO and in addition, a portion of the pull-tab profits sold at Spare Time Entertainment will also go to OYHA. (Pull-tab profits will be split among other local area associations/charities.)

 

Why another fundraiser?

This fundraiser opportunity presented itself after the OYHA Board had the budget prepared, registration posted, and ticket information printed. Due to the timing, previous fundraising efforts and commitments were already underway. The OYHA Board determined that the potential profits from this fundraiser far exceeded the small amount of work/commitment needed.

 

The OYHA Board is continuously looking for opportunities to reduce costs and conduct profitable fundraisers in efforts to support the hockey youth of Owatonna. Recent fundraisers have allowed for minimum/no registration increases even with increased costs, specifically increased ice costs. And fundraisers have allowed for purchases such as the cross-ice boards that give the youth hockey players enhanced hockey skills and more enjoyment of the game.

 

What is required of you?

Each OYHA team will be assigned 2 Saturdays. Each Saturday commitment is from 2:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. and 4 adults are needed. The Team Manager/Fundraising Manager will coordinate filling these time commitments. Thus, there is a potential of 3 volunteer hours needed from you to work the BINGO event. The 4 adults will not be BINGO callers but will help sell BINGO cards.
