It is hockey season again and your player may spend almost as much time in the locker room as on the ice. OYHA, Minnesota Hockey, and USA Hockey want to ensure that every player has a great all-around hockey experience, both on and off the ice.
We need the help of parents to volunteer as a locker room parent.
Getting Started:
- Go to www.minnesotahockey.org
- Click on SafeSport and then on "Screening"
- Complete the background check for "All Other Volunteers"
- Begin working through the "Training" provided through Safe Sport. The 90 minute on-line video training must be completed by the end of the season.
Locker Room Parent Duties:
- Arrive an hour prior to practice/games
- Monitor the locker room by being present in the room or just outside (with open door). Observe activity in room frequently and regularly.
- Players should never be left unsupervised in a locker room
